How to make a bald cap

  •        First of all you need to start off by measuring the head of you model as you want it to be the perfect fit. A lot of bald caps are used for film and TV so its mandatary to have it that it fits perfectly.

  •       Starting in the front at your natural hairline, follow along your hairline just above your   ear. Continue to bend of neck, over other ear, to starting point.

  •       Measure from the front of your natural hairline back over the crown, where your head bends and meets the back of your neck.

  •        Start in front of one ear, bringing your tape measure over the crown to the front of your other ear.

  •     Once you have measured the head you will need a red head and a marker pen and using the measurements draw them onto the read head making sure you are as accurate as possible so it will fit the models head.

  •      Going around the template drew on the red head paint on bald cap plastic and going one way only either down or across.

  •     Dry that layer with a hair dryer ensuring its dried fully and make sure that the hair dryer isn't on too hot as the bald cap plastic can melt and separate

  •     Once the layer is fully dry apply talc powder to get rid of the tackiness so you are ready to apply another layer

  •     When applying the next layer make sure you are going the opposite way than you did on your last layer and follow the drying process

  •     Keep applying layers until you are happy with the thickness

  •      Once your happy with the thickness and the bald cap is fully dry, using a needle slowly slip it underneath the cap and move around to help ease the cap of the red head. slowly pull it off and apply talc to get rid of the tackiness and help ease it off.
